What is Water Cremation Services?

Water Cremation Services offers an environmentally sustainable cremation alternative to fire cremation. This compassionate and dignified cremation reflects the organic process of decomposition of the human body when returned to the earth. We accelerate this natural process by balancing water flow, temperature, and pH levels.

How Does Water Cremation Work?

Water Cremation returns the human body back to the fundamental building blocks of life through a process called alkaline hydrolysis. The body is placed in a clean stainless-steel vessel and mixed with a water-based alkaline solution which is heated and pressurized for an average of 16 hours. Once the cremation is complete there are two portions remaining, the liquid portion and the inorganic bone minerals. These two portions are sterile, nonhazardous and contain no RNA or DNA. The liquid portion is what contains the building blocks for organic matter these are water, peptides, amino acids, sugars, and salts, ready to be returned to the ecosystem. The bone minerals are like that of fire cremation however 20% more remains are given back to the family when compared to fire cremation, they are also finer in texture and whiter in color.

Why Choose Water Cremation?

Water cremation allows families to make a final choice an impactful one. This Eco-friendly form of cremation doesn’t burn any fossil fuels and has a 90% energy savings and 1/10th of the carbon footprint when compared to fire cremation. The water cremation vessel uses electricity and the awesome power that is water. The alkalis that are used in the alkaline hydrolysis is sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide, these are also used in many other industries including food preparation and beauty products. Once the cremation is complete there are no chemicals left over and it is completely nonhazardous.

Water cremation and fire cremation both give remains or “ashes” back to the family. The gentler water cremation gives back an average of 20% more remains. The fire cremation produces remains that resemble cornmeal and are darker in texture whereas water cremation resembles powdered sugar, it is finer and lighter in color. This delicate texture offers great many uses for glass and other memorial art.

Environmentally  Friendly

No burning of fossil fuels are used during the cremation process  which means it is  1/10th of the carbon footprint and a 90% energy savings when compared to fire cremation.

Return to the Earth Sooner

Peptides, amino acids, sugars and salts are all necessary for organic living and in less than one day a human body can be broken down to these essentials ready to enter back into the Eco-system .

More Returned to The Family

Due to the gentle nature of the cremation more remains are able to be returned to the family. Their appearnce is fine grained and light in color.

An Affordable Option

Water Cremation is comparative to fire cremation in respect to cost. However when compared to the cost of a burial, water cremation in most cases will be less expensive. Pricing Coming Soon.
